One of the things that my husband tends to crave on is spicy food. One of the things that he used to enjoy eating where hot wings. For a change I decided to try another cauliflower recipe, and do a type of hot wings. The texture on the outside is very similar, on the inside not so much but non the less is a soft and very tasty interior.

Cauliflower hot wings

INGREDIENTS:

1 large head cauliflower, chopped into bite-size pieces

1 cup all purpose flour

1/2 cup of water

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp pepper

1 tsp cumin

1 cup buffalo hot sauce (it can be any of your choice, or homemade)

1 tsp butter

1 tsp oil

DIRECTIONS:

For the cauliflower pieces:

Preheat oven to 450º F, and prepare a nonstick baking sheet with a little oil, or parchment paper.

In a bowl combine the flour, cumin, salt, pepper and water. Mix it well until smooth, make sure is thick enough to prevent dripping (if needed add more flour, if too thick add water).

Dip the cauliflower pieces in the mixture until coated, and place on the baking sheet.

Place in the oven and let it bake for about 20 minutes.

For the sauce:

While the cauliflower is baking in a pot put the hot sauce and butter on low-medium heat, and keep stirring until butter is melted and the mixture is combined.

Take the cauliflower out of the oven when its done, and toss the cauliflower pieces into the sauce mixture until they are evenly coated. Place them on the baking sheet and put them in the over once again for another 20-25 minutes until they are crisp.

To Serve:

You can serve the cauliflower bits with ranch dip, or a side of sweet potatoes (just like in my case).

Enjoy!!
